Those Who Sit Above in Shadow

Watching, Waiting

ricrodrigo asked: If I understand correctly the "spider pose" cover of Spider-Woman that everyone is complaining about is a variant cover and drawn by another artist, I forget their name. I loved Greg Land's art in Sojourn, which is a great comic series that was cut short, but it got bad as he got more popular and less time to "research" good poses to trace.

thespectacularspider-girl:

I know, I was just commenting on how Spider-Woman gets fucking Land.  Like, give us a better artist.  Does Frank Cho still work at Marvel?  Get Frank Cho on this book.

THANK YOU! God Frank Cho is the best!

imminentdeathsyndrome asked: Gosh, a lot of people seem really upset over the new Spider-Woman cover.

thespectacularspider-girl:

This is what he’s talking about by the way:

Fuck ‘em.  They wouldn’t be complaining if it was Spider-Man in that pose.  Which we’ve seen in him in plenty of times.

Nevermind that that is a classic Spider-Pose.  Done by many Spider family characters in the past.  But no, because a woman does it it is wrong.  Is it because of Jessica’s ass?  Because its been well confirmed by this point that Jessica seriously has one of the best butts in Marvel.

I don’t even read Spider-Man anymore and I fucking understand what this pose means.  Lord knows I’ve seen Peter do it enough.

You see, there is a new series about Spider-Woman drawn by Grag Land. I’m ok with this pose of Jessica… well, that’s not really true, but she isn’t the one who needs help. I wonder, what Mr. Land meant by drawing new girl Silk that way? That she doesn’t have the guts to join the spider-family?

A giant arachnophobe tried to squish her and only somewhat succeeded.

Oooo Greg Land can’t draw what a new and biting observation, *sarcastic applause*
